The Need to Network

Presented By: Jeanne Griffin

Director of Business Development, TeamHealth

Networking and lunch: 11:30am

Program:  12:00pm - 1:00pm

Whether you’re a business leader, professional, or entrepreneur, it is important to develop a networking strategy and put it into action. Don’t fall prey to believing that networking is not for you because you’re not in a specific type of business. The gifts received from growing a network are beyond what you can imagine.

For example, when you tap into the resources you need to succeed, you’re benefiting from networking.  What about those seemingly small personal changes that are so positive that others take notice and can possibly lead to a promotion or help you increase your client base? Many people have even found their new best friends though networking. So what are some of the benefits you can typically expect from growing your business network?

During the presentation, you will:

  • Learn how to develop a personalized networking strategy that works for you.
  • Hear about why people give up and just quit growing their networks and how you can avoid those pitfalls.
  • See how to measure your networking success—it’s probably not what you think.
  • Discover the top networking myths and why they’re wrong.
  • Participate in a hands-on opportunity that puts your networking skills to the test so you can begin building your network the day of the event.

SPEAKER BIO:

Jeanne Griffin, Director of Business Development at TeamHealth, is a recognized business networking professional who develops training, authors articles, and presents talks about business networking. As a networking consultant and coach, Jeanne has organized and facilitated numerous networking events. She emphasizes that as her clients are building their networks, it is essential to be “others-focused” if they want to reap the rich rewards of relationship networking.

Her clients who apply the “give to others” principle see results and build networks that work. Jeanne states, “It is incredibly rewarding to watch a start-up business entrepreneur experience explosive growth through his or her network. Each member of the network delivers ‘feet on the street’ that promote the entrepreneur’s business, and the entrepreneur does the same for his or her network members’ businesses. I especially remember one individual who was extremely timid when I first met her, and she was obviously nervous in group settings. After actively building a strong network, she blossomed professionally.  Her network contacts helped her stretch and grow from someone who would never speak in front of a group to boldly taking the microphone and speaking enthusiastically in front of an audience of any size.”

Networking and lunch will be available starting at 11:30am, and the program begins promptly at 12:00pm. Let us know of any dietary restrictions upon check-in at the registration desk.

Cancellation requests/refunds will be honored within 48 hours notice if paid in advance. Payment will be due for no-shows.
