SPEAKER BIO:
Cindy earned a thesis-level master’s degree in Human Resources Development from the University of Tennessee, holds SPHR® and SHRM-SPC® designations and is a graduate of Leadership Oak Ridge.
Over the years, she has served on several professional boards including Oak Ridge Human Resources Association (ORHRA), Tennessee Valley HR Association (TVHRA), and Association for Talent Development (ATD) Smoky Mountain Chapter. She is the President/Owner of Lead Light Consulting.
Cindy is a career Human Resources professional with an in-depth understanding of complex HR issues, business plan execution and measuring key performance indicators with a no-nonsense approach – these are all hallmarks of the Cindy Light Brand. Additionally, she is a lifelong learner with a passion for education and continuous improvement. She has become a leader of best practices through the study of human performance (HPI) and LEAN business concepts.
Her employment and consulting experience include talent acquisition and retention, workforce HR strategy, policy administration and corporate EEO/OFCCP compliance. Her specialized consulting focuses on interim HR Management services for start-up organizations and emergent vacancies.
Ms. Light has worked for and with companies such as Centrus Energy, Alcoa, US Foodservice and Carlex Glass in the areas of nuclear energy, manufacturing, logistics, distribution, and automotive sectors.
A well-known, respected, and influential voice in her profession, Ms. Light is also a college instructor, master trainer, coach, writer, and in-demand presenter. She believes that her life’s mission, powered by her passion for learning, is to help others discover their full potential through living their values and pursuing a career that is true to their talents. With 29 years of employment and consulting experience in key HR business sectors, Cindy is at a point in her career where giving back to the HR and Talent Development communities has become her focus.
