Acting with Respect

Presented By: Geoffrey Scheer

Managing Director, Access Communications

Networking and lunch: 11:30am

Program: 12:00pm - 1:00pm

During this interactive presentation, Geoffrey Scheer will utilize the power of live theater to illustrate the ethical and financial benefits of a diverse, inclusive and harassment free workplace.

Volunteers will be selected to perform several short scenes with Geoffrey depicting real-life workplace situations of discrimination, unconscious bias, harassment and other barriers to diversity and inclusion.

Geoffrey will then lead a discussion with the audience, attempting to understand the underlying motivations behind each character's actions and explore alternate ways the various situations could be handled.

Learning Objectives:

  • Underscore the importance of diversity and harassment awareness training; it's the "right" thing to do (moral and ethical reasons) and it's the "smart" thing to do (legal and financial considerations)
  • Learn how to identify the underlying motives behind people's behaviors and actions.
  • Explore alternative, "outside-the-box" training methods prioritizing human connection over reliance on technology.
