The ATD Smoky Mountain Chapter is committed to providing an annual scholarship to a student attending a college or university that supports workplace learning and performance. 

Our chapter provides an annual scholarship award to college students whose study focuses on developing talent in areas including:

• Training and Development
• Organizational Development and Learning
• Performance Improvement and Analysis
• Work Design
• Human Resources

2023 Scholarship Award Winner

Congratulations to our 2023 Scholarship Award Winner: Olivia Soler!

Olivia is currently studying Human Resource Management with a collateral in Information Management at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. As one of her professors put it, “I believe her emphasis on Information Management in the field of HR will help her realize and develop an innovative approach to online delivery of professional development opportunities in the workplace.” Board Members agreed, Olivia’s resume, application, and recommendations made it clear: Olivia has a history of making things happen! Her success on various projects demonstrates an extraordinary ability to lead, manage, and coach. Whether it’s her coursework, internships, campus involvement, or working four jobs, Olivia excels. As her advising coordinator said, “Olivia demonstrates all the qualities one would want to see in a young professional – reliable, punctual, responsive, good with follow-through, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.” But perhaps Olivia’s own words say best, “I would love the opportunity to develop my passion for development and foster my knowledge to help raise awareness of the value of learning and development.” Indeed! Let’s all welcome Olivia to our Chapter and do all we can to support her as she embarks upon her Talent Development journey! 

Past Scholarship Recipients

To be eligible for the scholarship award, interested college students must complete the Scholarship Application and submit two (2) Scholarship Reference Forms to students@atdsmokymountain.org.

Application submission dates and forms for the 2024 Student Scholarship will be announced soon.
